What is the Spring Tree Quest?
If you notice closely, every year the flowering patterns of common tree species seem to be changing. Is this due to climate change? Unfortunately, we don’t have the data to verify these suspicions. The Spring Tree Quest helps us fill these data gaps through the participation of interested citizens like you!
Tree Quests are held across India every three months, to get a snapshot of the leafing, flowering and fruiting patterns of common trees. When enough of this kind of data has been collected, we can compare patterns within and between years to really understand what is changing and how.
The Spring Tree Quest (15-18 March 2019) is the first bioblitz event this year and it hopes to capture the resplendence of the tree species that flower around this time each year

Spring Tree Quest Results
In March 2019, SeasonWatch held its second bioblitz event called the Spring Tree Quest. The idea of this event was to rapidly collect phenology data on the common and widespread trees of India. March is generally the time of flowering for many woody plant species and we hoped to capture this aspect of plant phenology through the data contributed by SeasonWatchers..
The Spring Tree Quest saw participation from across the country! 137 individuals, 50 schools & 9 colleges contributed data on 14706 trees from 22 states and 5 union territorries!
