We are tracking 130+ tree species that are likely to be found in backyards, gardens, campuses and along avenues across many states in India. Most of these species are also highly seasonal, showing flowers, fruits and leaf fall only at certain times of the year. The species on our list include some iconic native trees such as Banyan and Neem, as well as exotic trees that put out spectacular flowers, such as Jacaranda. There are also some region-specific trees, such as Rhododendron, and Box Myrtle, that are seen only in the Himalayas. If you think we have missed a native tree species that should be observed and is widespread in India, drop us a line at sw@seasonwatch.in , and we will do our best to include it on our list of species observed!
